Rocky Mountain News
This article really sparked my interest. One reason was because I really like Carrie Underwood because she is so talented and I aspire to be like her in the musical sense because I'am interested in playing guitar, writing songs and singing. Another reason found that i liked this article was because I really respect our troops and what they are doing for our country to keep us safe. In the article the reporters asked Carrie Underwood questions about her life and the Medal of Honor.
The convention will be held next week in Denver where there will be entertainment from Clint Eastwood and Carrie Underwood. Carrie says that she was very excited to be apart of such an honor and believes that no matter where you stand politically it's still great to be apart of something where you honor people who have done so much for our country, which I strongly believe in as well. Some of the questions that she was asked were questions regaurding military that has been in her family, trips to entertain the troops and people who modeled her personal life. Carrie says that a couple of her dads brother were in Vietnam and thinks that her granfather may have been in World War II. She said that as a kid she was in Girl Scouts and remembers being pen pals with men overseas. She never quite understood at the time what was going on as most children dont, quite like i didn't when i was that age. She just thought it was cool to have a pen pal.
One great thing to hear from this article was that Carrie Underwood said that the troops were in such great spirits when she would entertain the troops. She says that some of the people that she has modeled her life after has been Alan Jackson and Brad Paisely, she considers them to be "very normal people". I enjoyed this article alot, knowing that the troops are getting the thanks they deserve.
